His Holiness Pope Shinouda III to Visit Ethiopia

Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church, His Holiness Pope Shinouda III, will be visiting Ethiopia for three days (11-14- April 2008). Some 20 Archbishops of His Church will also accompany him. As Sources from the private office of the patriarchate of Ethiopian Orthodox Church have indicated, the Coptic holy father will be discussing with, permanent members of the Ethiopian Holy synod the bilateral issues pertinent to the two sisterly Churches. His Holiness Pope Shinoda III will also be meeting senior officials of the Ethiopian government to discuss on various issues.

The Coptic patriarch is scheduled to visit the exhibition opened at the patriarchate Hall. He will also be attending a Mass on April 13, 2008 at the Bole Debre salem Medhane Alem We-Metmiqu Yohannes Abune aregawi Cathedral, Addis Ababa.

It is to be recalled that fathers of the two Churches have recently made an agreement to resume and reinvigorate the sisterly relationship that grew rough for different reasons. The Ethiopian patriarch His Holiness Abune Paulos, has paid a visit to the Coptic land by the invitation of His Coptic counterpart, His Holiness Pope Shinouda III.
