Newspaper for campuses said to serve as a bridge among students
GUBAYE KANA , the newly launched newspaper for spiritual students housed in the different higher institutions of learning, is said to be instrumental in serving as a bridge among such students in informing and guiding them on the basics and developments of their church.
According to Asrat Kebede, Head of the Media and public relations section of Mahbere kidusan, studies conducted since 2003 have indicated the merit in having such a newspaper and as per the endorsement of the General Assembly of Mahbere kidusan the paper has come into existence. The paper would serve the targeted students in informing them on current issues in their church and it will also be a forum for exchanging spiritual views among themselves, Asrat has said.
The paper would be used as a channel to trickle down directives issued by the association to the different campus assemblies, he has added mean while, Ato Aklilu Legese, head of the coordination office for Internal affairs, has requested the targeted students to enrich their paper by sending articles, photographs, reports, etc with the utmost sense of belongingness.
Holy synod decides to establish the Millennium University
The Holy Synod has passed a resolution to establish a millennium university in which advanced studies would be conducted in the areas of Dogma and church order. Taking into account the place's significance in the spiritual and secular history of the country, the university is said to be built at the Entoto St. Raguel cum Elias church in Addis Ababa.
A committee has been already established to make a study on the lay out needed for the establishment and its report is expected to be presented to the next synod meeting. The foundation stone is going to be laid in the nearest future, it has been learnt. |
