He had arisen from a sealed Tomb!
(Mt.12:4, Mr.16:1, Lu.24:1, Jh.2:1)
On the day of the crucifixion, of our lord and savior Jesus Christ paid the price for our redemption known as the thirteen passions of the cross and on it he cried, ''Dear father, into thy hand I commend my spirit" I entrust my soul to your hand" (Lk.24:46) and separated his holy soul from his flesh on his own power. Immediately after that, he went to hell in his divine sole and brought out the souls of men which are languishing there from Adam to the last and made them enter Heaven.( 1st pet. 3:19-20)
When the day closed Joseph and Nicodemus came to Pontus Pilate and begged for the holy body of Jesus Christ. Pontus Pilate gave them the orders that they allow them to do as they pleased and they took his body down from the cross. Then, they washed the blood and wrapped his holy body in fine linen clothes and put on his body Myrrh and Aloes. They then placed him in his sepulcher which was made of stone. He remained in there for three days and nights. As he was born out of a Virgin so he rose again out of a sealed tomb with out disturbing both ( Mt.12:40, Mr.16: 1,Lu 24:1, 1stJh 20:1).
After his resurrection he was first seen by his mother (holy Mary) and on Sunday he was seen by Mary of Magdalene. She was crying then thinking that some evil people have hid his body. The lord then appeared to her and told her of his resurrection.
Mary of Magdalene had a great faith, loyalty and diligence therefore she traveled to his tomb at a late hour in the night. Her greatest concern is how to move the great stone that sealed her lord with in. The angel of the lord came to her and those with her and moved the great stone for them. The soldiers who were guarding the tomb fell unconscious at the sight of him and he told them about the resurrection of the lord. He came to show them this; so that they bear witness to his resurrection. When she saw that it was empty she ran back to the apostles and told them this.
Then the lord appeared to her and he called her "Mary" and she knew him and was about to touch him, but he said 'touch me not … but go and tell this to my brethren the apostles'. So she went in joy to the apostles and said, "I have seen his face and I have herd his voice, he has arisen from the dead!"
There were two have heard all this and, did not want to believe the testimonies given by the women. These are the two travelers of Emmaus. Our lord the devout shepherd who has come to save the lonely Adam did not want these also to lose the sight of his glorious resurrection. Therefore, he traveled the whole day with them. They did not understand the purpose of Christ; as a result they were not able to know him!!! Therefore, the lord said to them "What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another as ye walk and are sad…o fools and slow of heart to believe ". Finally, when they reached their home they sat for an evening meal and as he gave them the bread they knew him and he vanished.
The apostle Thomas also said that he will never believe his resurrection unless he sees his nailed hands and thrust my hands in to his sides. After a week the lord entered inside a room which was shut and asked Thomas to touch his nailed hands and his sides. He said "be not faithless but believing" Thomas touched the lord and cried out saying, "My Lord and my God!"
Even though each had a different faith, diligence and loyalty the lord was kind and faithful enough to show them his glorious resurrection.
Therefore, this part of the Bible contains a great lesson for us. Therefore, what kind of faith, life and diligence do we possess? If we possess the same loyalty and love to our lord we can still see him at Jerusalem, Gethsemane and Golgotha. This will make our Lord happy and he will grant us the light of his wonderful resurrection.
The lessons of this lent has finished.
Glory to God and Holy Mary.
May God Bless us, Amen.
